Masonic Charities & Philanthropies
Freemasonry has a rich and historical tradition of charity dating back to the "Old Charges" of 1390 and
in this country as early as 1791.
The first two official acts of the Grand Lodge of Rhode Island in 1791 were:
(1) take up a collection, and
(2) to be distributed to the poor the ensuing Winter
Now:

4% Medical Research
1% Scholarships & Youth
1% Community Service
