Declaration of Trust
Witness This Trust Agreement, made in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania between the Founders and Trustee hereto in the Fall of 1996.
Whereas, the Founders & Trustee desire to establish a Nonprofit Charitable Trust known as the Obershenk Medallion Trust, for the purpose of promoting vocal music in Pittsburgh by providing professional development resources for exceptionally gifted singers, as inspired by the exceptionally gifted tenor, Kevin E. Gruden, and
Whereas, the Obershenk Medallion Trust shall consist of such moneys and funds as may be collected by the Founders and Trustee and entrusted to the Trustee for investment, safekeeping, and the use of the Trust in its charitable purpose, and
Whereas, Richard G. Johnson, Esq., has agreed to serve as Trustee of the Obershenk Medallion Trust, under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the United States of America, and in strict accord with the By-Laws of the Trust, and now therefore:
The Founders & Trustee hereby establish and direct the Trustee to invest the funds of the Obershenk Medallion Trust in strict accord with the By-Laws of the Trust, and do further establish an Advisory Board of Directors to administer the Trust for the benefit of its properly- designated Beneficiaries in accord with law and the By-Laws, and do further establish a Distributions Committee for the purpose of enacting the charitable function of the Trust in accord with law and the By-Laws.
